A dream… The cabins of the cable car Piculin slide in complete silence up to the top, a breath-taking landscape opens up at your feet and the spotlessly white snow sparkles with myriads of crystals over meadows, woods and rocky spires. Set right on the edge of the Piculin slope, a part of the Kronplatz ski area, the apartments of Vanzi Chalet in Piccolino / Pikolein are a great base for the exploration of Dolomiti Superski, thanks to easy connections with the ski area Three Peaks Dolomites, but, first of all, with Alta Badia (free ski buses stop just 200 m away from the Chalet), offering direct access to the famous ski circuit of Sellaronda. Otherwise, leave behind the ski slopes and enjoy some amazing off-piste experience with snowshoes or climbing skins in the virgin snow-covered scenery where nature reveals all its beauty. For Nordic skiing enthusiasts there are some exciting high-altitude cross-country ski trails, like the ones at Passo delle Erbe or in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park (starting from San Vigilio di Marebbe). But there are still many other activities to try: winter trekking, freestyle, ice-skating, toboggan runs and playgrounds in the snow for the children, while the bravest ones can enjoy ice climbing and paragliding. That’s why in a holiday spent in the apartments of Vanzi Chalet in Piccolino / Pikolein (San Martino in Badia / St. Martin in Thurn) no day is the same.
