Adventures in nature
In summer, Val Badia is a great destination to escape from summer heat. The climate here is favourable for sports, while the views take the breath away inspiring numerous hiking, cycling, MTB and e-bike tours. The picturesque maze of well-marked trails winds through wildflower meadows and lush forests rich in mushrooms, passing by waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes and towering rocky peaks. Especially beautiful is the trail leading from the apartments of Vanzi Chalet in Piccolino (San Martino in Badia) through the district of Giogo towards Piz da Plaies with a stunning view over the Dolomites. It’s from here that expert mountain bikers can rush down along the new MTB freeride trail to San Vigilio di Marebbe (St. Vigil in Enneberg). Just a few kilometres to the south, in Longiarù, you can travel back in time through the rural history along the Tour of Viles (Roda dles Viles) and in the Valley of Mills. Looking for virgin nature you can head towards Braies Lake (Pragser Wildsee) or to the nature parks Fanes-Sennes-Prags and Puez-Geisler. Those who prefer moving along paved roads can take advantage of the proximity of Vanzi Chalet to the road cycling trail of the Badia Valley. Neither the famous passes of the Dolomites are too far away for cycling over their exciting ups and downs. Thrill-seekers will also be spoilt for choice between the zip-line of San Vigilio di Marebbe (the longest one in Europe), paragliding with departure from the top of Kronplatz and exhilarating climbs and via ferratas in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park.
